Cultural Bits: Alexander McQueen At The MET
Curated by Andrew Bolton, “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” gives you a multifaceted look at the ground-breaking achievements of a true visionary. The exhibit is on display at Metropolitan Museum of Art until July 31, 2011. Without any less-than-stellar reviews from critics, this is definitely one of this summer’s must-see events in New York.
Savage Beauty will feature close to 100 looks and 70 accessories pulled from McQueen’s 19-year career. Bolton has paid special attention to McQueen’s obsessions as an artist–with birds, the Victorian tradition, otherworldly elements, etc. –to give new life and perspective to one of fashion’s few geniuses.
