Sasha Pivovarova for Vogue Paris
Since Carine Roitfeld was ousted at Vogue Paris earlier this year the fashion crowd waited in angst to see if new editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt could fill the steep stiletto pumps. As it turns out Alt can also turn it!
In the June issue, Alt and her team paid tribute to the Madonna-dominated downtown style of the 1980s. Who was their choice subject? None other than supermodel turned fine artist Sasha Pivovarova.
The look: over-over-sized outerwear, boxy trousers, and the avant-garde essence of the Village’s art scene.

As a belated birthday present to the reining queen of the original super models, we’re spotlighting Naomi Campbell’s domination over the onesie.
It’s truly impressive how severely she served body in a classic one-piece. Cheers to Naomi Campbell; she brought curves back to the runway and redefined the prima donna super model.
We pulled only the best one-pieces from Diesel, LSPACE, House of Jackie Brown, and Insight to pay homage to the timeless Miss Campbell, may she continue to snatch covers and Russian billionaires until the end.
Denim is a classic piece that will always stay in style. However, this season calls for reinventing the classic denim pieces to spice up your wardrobe! The Spring Denim Accents Lookbook highlights key ways to use specific denim pieces in new and fun ways for Spring!
Ladies, a denim vest works great for layering over dresses, flowy tanks, shirts, and more. Printed skinny jeans are great fashion statements for the Spring, and it is best paired with a neutral colored top. Dark denim shorts work well with dressier pieces. Try pairing your denim shorts with a fitted blazer, loose graphic tee, and a fun purse!
Guys, it’s time to mix and match colors and patterns! Layer a fitted denim shirt over a graphic tee and printed shorts for that casual feel. Denim on denim can work very well together. In order to achieve this look, pair a light washed denim shirt with dark washed denim jeans. I dressed up the classic look with a fitted blazer and trendy details.

During the Spring 2011 runway shows, there were a lot of brighter colors, prints, pastels, and mix-matched textures. Diesel Black & Gold has always been known for their dark denim, but this time around they took a different route. Sophia Kokosalaki–creative director of the brand– explained, “We have a lot of blue denim in Diesel, so it’s not necessary to go down this way—everybody knows we have this” (Style.com). She always said the color palette they used were inspired by the desert. The wide variety of neutrals, soft greens, peaches, and browns complement each other very well. Their runway looks included a lot of denim of course, but instead they used lighter washes mixed with lighter colored jackets, and even leather pieces. Overall, the new Spring 2011 collection encompasses lighter hues that are more suitable for spring wear. Men, invest in lighter shades of denim like light gray, khaki, and olive green. Pair these jeans with colored leather jackets, henley tees, collared shirts, and vests for the layering technique. Make sure to keep the colors in the same color family.
Not sure what jeans to get? Check out these light gray jeans from 7 For All Mankind, these brown jeans from Adriano Goldschmied, and these gray jeans from Private Stock and MEK. We have a wide variety of denim in many different shades. Visit DJPremium.com now to update your new Diesel Black Gold inspired wardrobe. No statement GQ makes about menswear is taken lightly. So there should be surprised at our excitement after GQ posted their “Guide to Denim Right Now” ( http://t.co/STjaTCq ), where five of DJP’s top-selling brands snatched trophies.
